AOV
Average Order Value

Average ticket (also known as average order value or AOV) is a financial metric that is used to measure the average amount of money that a customer spends on a single purchase from a business.

Average ticket is an important metric for businesses to understand, as it can help them identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve their overall financial performance. For example, a business with a low average ticket may want to explore ways to increase the value of its products or services, or to encourage customers to purchase more items in a single purchase.

How to Calculate:

It is calculated by dividing the Total Sales Revenue (TR) of the business over a specific period of time by the Total Number of Purchases (TP) made during that same period.

For example, if a business generates $100,000 in sales revenue in a month and has 1,000 purchases, its average ticket would be $100 ($100,000 / 1,000). Average ticket is often used to compare the performance of different businesses or to track the performance of a single business over time.
